What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high intensity workout program that is infinitely scalable to all athletic and fitness levels. It is fun, energetic, and most importantly it’s effective! CrossFit utilizes a very testable definition of fitness:

World-Class Fitness in 100 Words:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.

Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.

Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combination and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.

Regularly learn and play new sports.

This “prescription” for fitness includes every level of a person’s needs to be fit and athletic, from the molecular building blocks of nutrition to the application of fitness to multiple domains of fitness. However, the best way to find out what CrossFit is, is to call us and come out for a test run!

What do we do?

We run, walk, jump rope, swim, push and pull sleds, squat, press, lift, kettlebells, clean, clean and jerk, snatch, jump, lunge … in a constantly varied fashion. Now two workouts are the same, except in the degree to which they make you sweat, breath heavy and get that much closer to your fitness/athletic goals. One this you will surely get is safe, effective training in any exercise that we ask you to do, and if you do not feel comfortable with a movement, a weight, or a combination we will accommodate you with an equally intense exercise routine that suits you and your fitness level. We are a group, a highly cohesive group who cheers each other on, works hard to ensure camaraderie, and do not accept egos, check that at the door.

All you have to do to get started is call (404-734-1023) or email (steve@crossfit-gwinnett.com) to schedule a time to come in.
