Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself, your family and your life….
Hi, I’m Katie Beck ? I’m a Corporate Performance Consultant by day and an administrator of chaos by night ? I have two very rambunctious little boys, William and Henry, whom are my heart. Between them and my love of obstacle course racing, my life is rarely boring.

What does your past in fitness/athletics look like?  Why did you decide to continue your journey here?
I have always lived an active life, beginning at the age of 2. Moving from 28 years of formal ballet training into running and weight lifting was a difficult transition, but once I started getting more acclimated, I looked for other ways to challenge myself. Enter, obstacle course racing! Due to demands of the sport, training has had to become more strenuous. When I moved to Buford earlier this year, my old Crossfit coach introduced me to Caleb and CFG to continue to strengthen myself and to exceed on fitness goals.

How long have you been a member at CFG?
Since this past February

What is something we might not know about you?
I’m terrified of heights. Or more so, I’m terrified of falling. Completing obstacles on a course can sometimes be more mentally challenging than physically – like jumping 15 feet into water.

What is your favorite song to workout to?
Lindsey Stirling – Take Flight

If you travel anywhere in the world, with any person from history…who would it be and where would you go?
My Ora (step grandmother) – I would have loved to travel with her to all of the places she visited as she worked during World War II, and see and understand her life as a strong, single woman during that era. She is one of my greatest female inspirations.

What’s the last book you read?
Pretty Girls – Karin Slaughter

What is it that keeps you coming back?
The coaches! By far the coaches at CFG are the most caring and engaged I’ve worked with in Crossfit.

What does the CFG Community mean to you?
CFG is a place of encouragement and growth. Everyone genuinely wants all to succeed. I love that!

What is one of your big goals for this upcoming year?
To get back to competition mode and accomplish a Top 10 rank in OCR by the end of April.

Do you have any big plans for the rest of the holidays?
Survival ;) To make it through and end the year on a successful note!

Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself, your family and your life…. I like long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners … oh wait...not that kind of profile... Well, my name is Chris Spotts and I work as a database administrator for a logistics company - that’s fancy talk for I work with computers and trains.  It’s not as glamourous as it sounds... if that sounds glamorous to you. (If it does, come... Continue Reading >>
