Angie has been a part of our CFG Family since earlier this year. Once starting in Fundamentals with Jake as her Coach for LIfe she has been making great strides towards her goals! We all see her smiling face and great attitude at the gym....let's get to know her a little deeper!
Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself...
How long have you been a crossfitter? What did you do before Crossfit and why did you start?
I started Crossfitting March 1, 2016, with my awesome CFL Jake Slaton! Prior to crossfit I was a treadmill/outside jogger, and a busy Mother to Roman and Ava. I’d heard of Crossfit but, decided to give it a try after encouragement from Erica Nolan :) She was certain I would love it! She is absolutely right!!
How long at CFG?
I’ve been at CFG since March 1, 2016. I’m having a great time, and I’m so glad I’ve found a box full of great people!
What is something we might not know about you?
I have an A.S.S. in Math/Science, a BS in Biology, and a BS in Nursing. Yes….I love school! I would be a professional college student if I could make a living while doing it!! NERD..
What is your favorite workout song?
I’d have to say I enjoy listening to AC/DC or Metallica during a tough WOD.
Who would be your celebrity best friend?
This is a tough question. I really don’t think too much about Hollywood celebrities but, if I were to befriend a celebrity it would probably be a Country Music artist. Overall, they seem like they’re “normal” everyday folks, who could probably relate to a Mom living in Buford, GA :)
What’s the last thing you read?
The last book I read was, “What the Dog Knows.” The most recent article I read was a discussion about the top 50 Kidney Transplant Centers in the US.
Why did you decide to begin Crossfit and what keeps you coming back?
I decided to begin crossfit because it seemed like a great way to challenge myself, mentally and physically. The great feeling after completing a challenging WOD and the CFG family keeps me coming back for more!!
What does the CFG Community mean to you?
Friends and comrades in WOD. We’re all here to challenge ourselves and support each other! That’s awesome!
What is your goal for this year?
To get stronger and more fit.
How do you treat yourself?
With chocolate, pedicures, and an occasional message.
What are your big summer plans?
Don’t really have any big summer plans this year but, we’re traveling with the kids to Disneyworld over Thanksgiving. I think I’m more excited than they are!
