Christian Davila

Coach

My name is Christian Davila and I am 21 years old. I found Crossfit in August 2012 right before I came to Crossfit Gwinnett. Growing up I had always played football and baseball. I loved the competitive environment and it was also my dream to win a state championship and play a sport in college. I grew up in Winder, GA where I played most of my sports until my junior year of high school I transferred to Hebron Christian Academy. There I won a state championship in baseball my senior year and had scholarship offers in both football and baseball. I chose to play baseball at Gordon College in Barnesville, GA. Gordon was a well established Junior College program that I was happy to play for. My freshman year we made it the Junior College World Series and lost in the semi-finals to end up #3 in the nation. Although I started center-field and enjoyed playing with the guys on the team I did not enjoy the game of baseball anymore. I decided to hang it up and come home to pursue something else. I needed to find something to compete in again and that’s when I stumbled across Crossfit. It sparked my interest quickly and I dove right in. I started Crossfit just to compete and win but it has become much more than that now. My first season competing in the OPEN I finished in 131st place in the Southeast and during my second season I moved up to 61st place missing Regionals by just 13th spots. My hopes are to make the leap next year and finally make regionals. I have been coaching at Crossfit Gwinnett since December 2012 and it has become my home. I have made many close friends that I would not have if it were not because of CFG. I hope that I can do the same for others by helping them achieve things other than just fitness. I want people to see Crossfit Gwinnett as a home with a ton of friends to turn to for anything. CFG is awesome and we welcome anyone!

I do Crossfit: To compete and push my body beyond what my mind actually thinks it can do.

I coach because: I enjoy seeing people learn new things and I love seeing someone change their lifestyle through Crossfit to become stronger in all areas of life.

My best exercise is: Clean and Jerk

The exercise I am terrible at is: Strict Handstand Pushups

My favorite superhero is: Arrow
